Glacial Lake Outburst Flood occurred causing flash flooding to hit various parts of District Chitral at 0000hrs on 16th July 2015 Deaths – 03 Water & Sanitation destroyed in 26 areas of District Chitral Houses Damaged – 116 FD, 33 PD. Mosques Damaged / Destroyed – 3 Shops Damaged / Destroyed – 23 Hotels Damaged / Destroyed – 6 Colleges Damaged / Destroyed (Private) – 1 Bridges Destroyed / Damaged – 15 Roadways Destroyed / Damaged – 12 Reshun Powerhouse Damaged / Destroyed.
Relief Provided
Summary for Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been moved for release of Rs. 140 million, following breakdown:-
o C&W Chitral – Rs. 100 million o PHED Chitral – Rs. 30 million o Irrigation Chitral – Rs. 10 million
Deputy Commissioner Chitral has been authorised to purchase and stock essential food items worth Rs. 1 million for distribution to affectees. Currently Rs. 20 million is available in District Chitral Relief Fund. DC Chitral has authorised expenditure of Rs. 200,000 for the purchase of drinking water for affectees. PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has transported 20 tons of Food Packs to District Chitral. District Chitral currently has enough NFIs to cater for its needs.
