1. Rivers Flow Situation Reported by Flood Forecasting Division. All rivers are flowing at Normal levels except; River Chenab at Marala & Khanki at Low to Medium, River Indus at Tarbela, Kalabagh & Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera, River Jhelum at Mangla & River Chenab at Qadirabad are at Low Level. Low to Medium flooding is expected in Nullahs of River Chenab. Details at Annex A.
2. Past Meteorological Situation and Future Forecast by PMD. Significant rainfall reported in last 24 hours is; Kakul 50 mm, Alexandra Bridge 47 mm, Marala 41 mm, Gujrat 39 mm and Kotli 37 mm. Forecast for next 24 hours predicts scattered thunderstorm / rain with isolated heavy falls over Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha & D.G Khan Divisions alongwith upper catchments of all the major Rivers. Isolated thunderstorm / rain over Sindh and Eastern Balochistan. Details at Annex B.

4. Significant Events Last 24 Hours a. Due to flash flooding in Ferozabad Town, District Khuzdar, Balochistan on 16 July 2017, 2 x brothers drowned in flood water. Dead bodies were recovered.
b. Due to flash flooding in Verap, River Dureji, District Lasbella, Balochistan on 16 July 2017, a jeep was washed away in flood water. 2 x persons were rescued by the Levis Force while 1 x person drowned in river and dead body was recovered by Local Administration.
5. Road Situation (NHA and Respective Provinces). All roads across the Country are clear for all types of traffic.
6. Railway Situation. All railway routes are clear.
7. Preliminary Losses / Damages Reported.
a. 3 x deaths were reported in last 24 hours.

9. Any Critical Activity to Report. Nothing to Report.
10. NDMA Recommendations. Considering Weather Advisory No 2 issued by PMD on 13 July 2017, all concerned departments are advised to remain on High Alert from 17 – 19 July 2017 and ensure following necessary actions:-a. Clearance of sewerage / drainage system in all major cities especially Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Quetta & Peshawar by relevant stakeholders. Critical monitoring of main sewerage channels of major cities like Lai Nullah be ensured by relevant stakeholders.
b. Issue timely alerts to people residing in / close to river plains / water courses.
c. Public awareness to vacate dangerous buildings, remain away from electric wires / poles and avoid swimming during periods of intense rain.
d. Sensitize vulnerable population not to venture into nullahs / flash flooding routes.
e. NHA, FWO and C&W Departments of respective Provinces / Regions to remain vigilant in restoring road links.
f. NIH / NHEPRN to advise all provincial Health departments about pre-positioning of necessary staff and medicines, where required.
g. There is a possibility of landslides in AJK, KP & GB areas, vulnerable population should be sensitized to remain alert and necessary preventive measures be taken.
h. Tourist be cautioned to avoid travelling to areas vulnerable to landslides, GLOF etc.
i. Vulnerable communities along reaches of River Indus, Jhelum, Ravi, Sutlej and their tributaries / Nullahs to be sensitized for requisite measures.
j. PDMA Punjab Only. Please ensure following:- (1) Considering possibility of Low to Medium flooding in Nullahs of River Chenab as predicted by FFD, vulnerable communities along Nullahs of River Chenab be sensitized for requisite measures. In case of any flooding situation in such Nullahs, immediate information be shared with all stakeholders especially NEOC.
(2) Share segregated data of losses & damages from start of Monsoon Season 2017 as reflected at Annex C. k. PDMA Punjab, Sindh & Balochistan Only. Considering possibility of moderate flooding in the Nullahs of Balochistan and Hill Torrents of D.G Khan Division during next 72 hours, vulnerable communities be sensitized for requisite precautionary measures. Relevant stakeholders be sensitized to critically monitor the situation.
