ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Red Crescent has deployed Emergency Response Teams have reached to the earthquake affected areas and shifted dozens of people to different hospitals.
The PRC KPK branch soon after the EQ on the information of house collapsed dispatched emergency teams with ambulances to Faqirabad and Sarozai payman viallge and shifted over 18 injured to Lady Reading Hospital.
On the directions of PRC Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi, the emergency response teams were deployed in Chitral, Swat, Manshera, Bajore, Dir, and Malakand.
The teams help the injured in shifting to the nearby hospitals while the volunteers network all over the country were activated and hundreds of volunteers reached to the different hospitals for blood donation.
So far the PRC teams are in the ground and helping the injured and those whose houses were damaged in the EQ.
PRC Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi was also contacted by the Turkish and Iranian Red Crescent who showed their sympathies over the loss and offered help in this hour of need.
The PRC has also contacted Afghanistan Red Crescent for any kind of assistance if needed.
The PRC has set up a control room at National headquarters for proper coordination and flow of information from the affected areas.
PRC is also coordinating with ICRC, IFRC and national socities for a joint response.
