ISLAMABAD — UNOPS is pleased to announce the recent signing of a $13.9 million agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO), in support of the polio eradication programme in Pakistan.
Under this new partnership, we will provide a range of human-resources management services, for the effective recruitment and contract management of over 550 WHO polio workers in the country.
Our Country Director, Mikko Lainejoki, commented on the new endeavor: "UNOPS has a team of HR experts who can assist in small- to large-scale operations of our partners. We feel privileged that WHO has chosen to partner with us on this important campaign, in support of the Government of Pakistan. It captures the spirit and practice of Delivering as One."
We provide cost-effective human resources management services, particularly in post-conflict and disaster zones. These include: advisory services; recruitment and pre-employment screening; contract administration; and training and performance management. We also offer customized services to address the unique needs and budgets of our partners.
According to WHO, Pakistan is one of the three remaining countries around the world where polio remains endemic.
