Heavy rain has continued to affect several parts of the country over the past few weeks, especially the northern and north-eastern provinces, causing more floods. Approx. 116 mm of rain in 24 h were recorded in Sialkot town (Punjab province) and 79 mm in Kakul city (Khyber Paktunkhwa province) over 26 - 27 July.
According to local media, as of 28 July early morning (UTC), 22 people have been killed, 60 have been injured and several houses have been damaged in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Paktunkhwa.
Over the next 24 h moderate to locally heavy rain, as well as strong winds may continue to affect the northern, north-eastern and south-western parts of the country, including the areas already affected.
