The Pakistan Red Crescent Society Gilgit-Baltistan provincial branch has provided relief items to 26 victimized families of recent flood in village Oshikhandas of Gilgit district.
The reliefs goods were included tarpaulin sheets,blankets, kitchen sets, oil stoves, water cans,latrine slabs and hygiene kits.
PRCS Provincial Secretary Noor-ul-Ain along with PRCS team distributed the relief items to the effectees in presence of tehsil administration authorities.
PRCS Watsan team setup transitional latrines for the flood affected communities on the occasion. “PRCS is not an NGO, it is an auxiliary body to the government for humanitarian services so we act according to the request of government authorities when and where needed” said PRCS GB branch Secretary Noor-ul-Ain on the occasion of relief distribution.
She said that the Pakistan Red Crescent Society creates awareness among the vulnerable communities about Disaster Risk Reduction because prevention of natural disasters is not in the hand of human being.
She assured the floods affected communities that PRCS stands with them in this difficult movement and will try its best to provide all kind of humanitarian support in collaboration with the local government.
