Arrivals and Departures: Fluctuations in the number of arrivals to different Greek Islands compared to previous trends were observed, particularly with an increase of arrivals to the island of Chios.
Border Crossings: Around 100 people an hour are crossing the Greek border crossing with the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia at Eidomeni. In the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, 29 people were returned to the Greek border for possessing false documents, no documents, or for being of other nationalities than Afghan, Iraqi or Syrian; none opted to apply for asylum in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Condition of People: On Lesvos, about 100 people from Afghanistan and North Africa spent the night at the olive grove site near Moria. On Samos, nine people remain detained for reasons of irregular entry at the Vathy Police Station. In Serbia, approximately 250 people remain in Belgrade. Most are from Morocco, Algeria, Afghanistan or Pakistan. On 8 February, at the land and sea borders in western Turkey, media reported 1,961 people having been rescued and/or apprehended.
